Welcome!
We’re so glad you found us!
Flexible Schedules
The schedule you need! You pick the days you need, based on your schedule, where space is available. [Minimum 2 days/week. And, as your schedule changes over the years, we accommodate as best we can.]
Engaging Curriculum
Our weekly, theme-based curriculum keeps learning fun and engaging, with special holiday traditions from all cultures woven in. Using a play-centered approach, children are free to choose between activities, explore their interests, and learn at their own pace.
Lots of Fun!
Lots of PLAY to follow our play-based curriculum. Lots of outside play, too (and a huge gym for cold or rainy days!)
Who We Are
We were established in 1992 by First United Methodist Church of Santa Rosa as a way to serve and support families in our community. FUMC Preschool has proudly provided a safe, affordable and comprehensive childcare program rooted in Christian values for the last 34 years. Our preschool is a place where children are nurtured, encouraged, and celebrated as they grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
We are committed to creating a safe, loving, and inclusive environment where every child feels known, valued, and supported. Our program warmly welcomes all families, regardless of race, religion, gender, national or ethnic origin. In partnership with families, we support each child’s unique journey while fostering curiosity, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them, for it is such as these that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs.”
—Matthew 19:14
Our Curriculum
We are a combination of preschool and child care. We offer theme based curriculum activities in the mornings, and then we continue to offer a rich environment in which children can explore and play all throughout the day.
Our focus
When the focus is on children's development, there are opportunities for children to practice their skills all day long. Our teachers meet each month to discuss each child's development, based on the "The Sooner the Better" program, the idea that the sooner a child is introduced to early education, the better long-term academic success they have.
